Vony Wong is a Jakarta-based photographer whose practice spans portrait, fashion, still life, art, and commercial imagery. She began her journey in photography in 2018, working initially with an Olympus 8MP camera gifted by her parents, an early tool that sparked lasting and intuitive connection to image-making. What began as a personal hobby gradually evolved into a multidimensional practice, shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and a strong sensitivity to human presence.
Her work is defined by versatility, moving fluidly across genres while maintaining a consistent focus on emotional clarity and visual intimacy. Central to her approach is the belief that photography is fundamentally relational. For Vony, the act of photographing is not only about compositions or aesthetics, but about building trust and connection with the subject. As she often expresses, “They are the stars. Our job is just to bring out that light and soul,” reflecting her collaborative philosophy where the photographer’s role is to reveal rather than impose.
For Sonar Paraiso, Vony developed The Living Canvas: The Bloom Inside the Frame, a campaign that frames the property as an evolving artwork activated by human presence. Built on the idea that space becomes complete when inhabited, the project positions Sonar Paraiso as a living canvas– where architecture, objects, and people continuously shape and redefine one another.
Rather than presenting staged perfection, The Living Canvas: The Bloom Inside the Frame embrace Sonar Paraiso as i could be seen–through shifting scales and moments that feel suspended between reality and imagination. Interiors become stages of wandering, where objects take on symbolic weight and spatial logic bends toward curiosity rather than function. The influence of fashion, editorial experimentation, and playful abstraction informs a visual rhythm that feels closer to narrative fantasy than conventional hospitality imagery. In this interpretation, the property becomes a portal: eclectic, imaginative, and quietly surreal, where every frame invites a sense of wonder and discovery.
